Foundation Portfolio 

In my rock magazine I want to capture the realist replica I could make, this made me think about the musicians and how they look on a magazine. A lot of the facial expressions done on magazine depends on the character as each differnt musician has differnt personalities but i found a common theme in that a lot of musicians keep a straight face to look serious. This could show that they're diffrent to the usual pop idols which nowadays rule the music industry, and try and recreate this'hard' genre which it is well known for. 

 

However we found out that in our target research the majority of people would like our musician to be quite lively and to be seen as they are performing. So this made me research into magazines where they have chosen to have musicians playing, the mood of the two were significantly different. They showed two different atmosheres, the one of the musician not playing an instrument gives a very dark and mysterious look whereas the musician playing the guitar looks more exciting and would most likely interest the reader more as he is showing off his talent. 

 

But when researching i found that the majority of rock magazine had the style of the dark and gloomy look which i think is trying to show the streotypical look of rock musicians of being cool and living life on the edge and having a carefree attitude to life.
